Justin is healing slowly. In about 3 months, he will start walking. He is doing really well and the doctor is pleased with his young body surviving trauma! So is his mama!!

Boy oh boy, do I ever remember those Pinewood Derbies. With 8 boys, we had our share of them. But they were a lot of fun (and hard work.)
We'll just call you the "Trophy Family".
I don't remember how many of our boys won trophies, but we had them sitting around the house for a lot of years.

Oh my goodness -- what a cute chunk of cheeks there, Daphne! So glad to see the pics and read the good news. Keep us posted on her update :)

I am home for a couple of days. Justin is doing awesome. It will be several months of recovery but he will recover! We have been blessed with so many miracles and tender mercies that last week. We are so incredibly grateful we still have Justin to love here on earth!

Justin's girlfriend, Jess, will be able to help him out Tues-Fri, and Kevin and I will alternate the weekends for a few more weeks.

His femur was broken clear though, the "ball" of the joint was shattered, and the hip is roughed up but not broken. No arterial damage, no head trauma, no internal trauma. Just really bruised and sore. Utility poles have no give in them when hit! He should be able to walk again in 3 months. He will be out of work at least for 3 months. Basically pretty much flat on his back for 6 weeks. He now has a setup like an old grandpa! His walker, crutches, portable potty, etc :)

Maddie and I started for home last night but the pass was closed due to avalanches and 14" more inches of snow. So we finally found a vacancy (I was feeling a lot of compassion for Joseph and Mary about 9pm last night!) in Issaquah. We took off this morning and finally made it home after more miles of slush, ice, snow, etc on the pass. But any day you don't have to chain up is a good day :) :) Kevin is in Alaska until Friday. Very cold there. Krista is safe and warm in NYC, and Lisa and Brian found an absolute adorable little house they can afford to rent in Selah. So they were moving in our record snow storm! And getting stuck several times in their efforts. I am so tired of winter already and it just started -- yikes.

WOW!! What a shock. I turned on the Blog and there was my newest great grandbaby (very early). Congratulations, Dan & Diana. What I can see of her, she looks beautiful, even plump for as early as she was. I'm excited for you. That makes my #52 great grandbaby. Daphne Lindsay makes her debut 8 weeks early

Daphne Lindsay was born at 12:56 on 1/24. She is 5 pounds and 3 ounces and 17" long. She has beautiful brown hair. Dad is ok. Mother is very sore. Daphne will spend a few weeks in the hospital but did not need a respirator and is only wearing the c pap to dry out her lungs. She is about an hour old in these photos.

Justin got to go home today!!! All that moving was really hard for him and he was hurting pretty bad by the time. Moving is rough for him, he has to use a walker and the car is really not a fun place for him right now. My mother is a wonder woman, straight up, no questions about it. She hauled a double mattress all by herself into her SUV and into Justin's house and then hauled Justin in too. It's been quite the day for her! So Justin is home, with a new bed, and his girlfriend is there with him tonight. My mom is thinking she might head home in the next few days, depending on how Justin does.

What an adventure! Thanks so much for the love and prayers and thoughts...

quick update... my parents met the surgeon today and both really like him. he sat down with them and showed them the xrays and explained what was done. justin broke his right femur basically as a clean break right on the bump you can feel if you press your hip. he's got 2 rods holding him together. he had his first round of physical therpy today and has gotten up in a walker. he cant put any weight at all on the leg for at least 6 weeks... pain control has been alittle more iffy today, but he's surviving! he'll probably get to go home on tuesday and will be going to stay at his girlfriend's house for at least the first week. she is an absolute sweet heart that has been with him almost constantly since this ordeal started. we are grateful for her!!

my dad got the car figured out. obviously its totaled, insurance is taking over from here (yay for good insurance!!) he is one lucky boy, his head made an imprint in the windshield, so blessed, this could have been a whole heck of a lot worse!

im going to try to upload a pic of his car, im doing this on my phone (which oddly wont let me capitilize or put in some punctuation...).

Hi there family!

Here in the land of Utah things are going well. We had a decent snow storm last night and we are all bundled up cuddling this morning.

Trent is doing well. He received a distinguished service award this past year for discovering a fire really soon after it happened. Thanks to him a lot less damage occurred. He recently went to the funeral for the Ogden police officer. It hits close to home and is scary for me when things like that occur. He's had to go to way too many funerals in the 4 years he's been a police officer. Despite it all, he still loves his job and is truly an amazing police officer and a true hero even if the public doesn't know it. Here he is looking awesome in his Class A uniform.

Bryce is thriving in 2nd grade. He reads really well, although he is supposed to be reading faster. He's a bit of a perfectionist and doesn't like to skip over words if he reads them wrong and that's where his hold up is. One of his favorite things to do is write stories. He is really incredible, he writes these stories and even illustrates them. The only frustrating part is that I read the story and get really into it, only to find out that he hasn't finished it and doesn't want to. I want to know how they end darn it! I like the illustrator's name in this one.

Hyrum is doing really well in Kindergarten. He has learned all of his letters and sounds and is learning to sound out words. He does a great job with it. He is always trying to do exactly what his brother does and I am sure if he knew how to write better he'd be making more books than Bryce. He loves to draw and loves to have Bryce write out words for him to copy down. He is such a ham, and we love him so much.

A while ago, our upstairs toilet wasn't working (Miss Alexis put a bumch of flossers down it :/) The boys ran down to tell me that it was broken. I acknowledged them, but didn't go to investigate. I told them to go close the bathroom and use the downstairs toilet until I could get it fixed. Well, later I went up to check it out and I found this note on the lid. :D I just about died laughing.

Alexis just turned 2 and oh man! Can I tell you how different it is to raise a 2 year old girl who thinks she is the queen of the house compared to my boys? She is my sassy little girl and she is SO funny! She is incredibly intelligent and never stops talking. One of her new things is to throw huge hissy fits. When she does I ask her to go to another room to cry and when she is done she can come back and play. She runs out of the room dramatically wailing and cries for a few minutes and then comes back to me and says, "I'm done Momma." What a little rascal!

I am doing really well. I am finally on a good set of meds that is helping to control my bipolar. I haven't done anything really exciting except for surviving life raising 3 silly yet wonderful children. It's a full time job that I never want to retire from. I started meeting up with the wives of some of the other officers that Trent works with and have made some amazing friends. It's nice to have support like that. :) My sweet boys write me notes all the time telling me that they love me. I think one of Bryce's even said something about how nice I had been to him lately. Those kind of things make my heart smile.

We had a fabulous Christmas full of family and love. We live a really good life. Sometimes the days are long when you are a stay at home mom, but it's the best job in the world. The pure love I get from the kids is all the payment I need.

Hi Family--

Wanted to pass some news along. Justin was in a car accident last night and broke his leg. He had surgery today to repair that. No other major injuries, thank goodness. My parents are on their way up now to assess the situation (he lives in Bellingham which is about 4.5 hours away)... Obviously we don't know very much. I'll keep you all updated on the blog or give me a call or text (509-306-0200), since my mom is going to have her hands very full for a while trying to care for her boy and get things situated. Please keep Justin in your prayers, he's got a long recovery in front of him.

Hey its been a while since I posted so I thought I would check in. It is so fun to see what is going on in the lives of my family members, even though we are far apart and I havent seen some of you in years. It sure helps stay connected to each of you when I can get on this blog and see pictures and read about happenings in your individual families.
The video that I posted was from a few months ago. Cameron found Ricks duck call and blew into and thought it was hilarious the noises that he could make.
We have been keeping busy. My calling in Young Woman's has really kept me busy. We have been traveling a lot this past month. Nothing glamorous in the way of traveling. 2 weekends in Boise for Christmas holiday weekend then we went back the newyears holiday weekend for Kates Baptism and for my parents mission report. Then the next weekend was our Nieces wedding in Portland. So three weekends in a row we were out of town. I am sure it really got people in our ward talking because on our way home from Portland that Sunday we got 2 phone calls from people in our ward. 1 being the EQ pres. Pretty funny though. Well I was going to try to post some more pictures of my other kids etc but I need to get ready to take Lindz to preschool, and I have a conession to make I am still in my pajamas and so is Lindsay. oops. oh who am I kidding this is a daily routine. PJ's till I absolutely have to get dressed. Love you all would love some more updates. Havent heard from Andrea or Elisa in forever.... hint hint :-)

Marty and I had a great time this past weekend! We went on Sunday to spend a few days with Mom. Tracy decided to come with her kids and visit also, so we had a great time. Thank you to all my great brothers who dropped by to visit. And to Clyde and Becky who had us over to play games and such! We had a great time. I would also like to thank Betty White for inviting us to her 90th birthday party while we played games! Mom was great fun playing games. Watch out-she is pretty sharp at games. And she enjoyed Phase 10 so much she bought a copy for herself. Now will someone go play it with her so she can practice it again.

Thought I would check in and tell everyone what I'm up to. Alex is still in Florida doing tech school for the Air Force. He graduates Feb. 17th and I get to go to Florida for it so extremely excited for that. Also I get to meet his grandparents from Russia in February guess I better practice my Russian some more.

As for me I am working 5 days a week and putting in hours volunteering for Mutt Masters. Starting to work on training Ayla as a service dog. For now I'm just helping walk the dogs, and helping with some training and office work. The other day we had the vetrans department drop off a dog that needed to be watched while its owner is under the weather. They showed up in a giant motor home that they had to park in the road because there was no way it was coming up the drive. What a beautiful dog! Loved her eyes. I'm loving volunteering here, was offered a part time spot once their building gets approved.

Today I was able to participate in some service dog training at the mall. It was awesome! And Ayla did soo good for what she has learned so far. Hoping next week I will be able to help out with the therapy dogs at Haven Behavioral War Heroes Hospital. I am absolutely loving this new journey :)

I believe the top picture is of Charlie, the puppy he wants me to foster for a week or so. Haha yeah don't think I will be doing that, but he is a cute little thing.
The dog with different colored eyes is the one we picked up from the giant veteran bus. Just had to show you guys her awesome set of peepers :) And of course Ayla in her way to large service dog vest which I had to just carry on my arm it.

It's good to get some more blogs, and what exciting news. Can you believe that I still get excited to get news of a new baby, after 51? But I do, and I love the new ones as much as I love the "old" ones.
I was happy to have Josh and Kristie stop in on their way home from Boise. And Brook is funny and cute, but so are all the others. I was also happy to have Brady and Kimmy (and family) stop in to say hello, also, as well as Kerri and Jason. Then I went out to Clydes to see Amber's 3 adorable girls and their Mommy. Amber, I hope your beginning to feel better. I also got to see Waylon and Willow's twins plus their 2 brothers. I finally got to meet Willow (and 2 sons, 11 & 7 yrs). That makes 22 of my greats that I got to see that week. It really made my week!!!
I know we need snow, but I have really enjoyed this springlike weather and I kinda hope it continues for a few days.
I'm still taking physical therapy 3 days a week and making progress, though I don't think its fast enough.
I got a letter from Aunt Judy today with a program of Scott's "Celebration of Life" program. She is really having a rough time with the loss of her son and I feel for her
Aunt Mae is in the hospital again. She has a staph infection, but is getting better and will probably be released on Monday.

Hello all! This is Kristie highjacking Josh's account in order to write to you all for an update. Sorry it's been a while. We have had an eventful few weeks and we want to share it with you (note the use of the royal "we" so that you feel Josh is a part of this).

Josh is having fun and keeping busy at school. He is coaching 9th grade basketball, mock trial and debate all at the same time while running stage crew. He dislocated and broke his right ring finger over the Christmas break playing basketball (we should have taken pictures). The doctors relocated it and told him to take it easy for a few weeks.

I, Kristie, just started student teaching today at Lehi High School for Theatre my major (I will be a part of 6 classes) and Lehi Junior High for my minor, Spanish (one Spanish I class). It is excited to finally be on the last leg of my bachelor journey. I graduate in April and after 7 years I will have my degree!

Brook keeps us laughing and happy. She is getting big, 16 months old now, and has begun to say "I love you", "no, no, no", "Mama", "Da Da", "Grandma" and "Grandpa" and she sneaks up on us to tickle and she jabbers almost constantly.

Brook is oblivious but super excited for our news: we are expecting again! I am 16 weeks along, feeling great, craving meat (I was a vegetarian), though I do get sleeping in the afternoons. We will find out in a couple of weeks what we are having and pass that information to you all. We love you and hope to see you soon.

Hello All,
I hope you are well within enjoying the festivities of the Holidays, I know we are. I see there was a request for pictures of the Twins and since Mom and Randy don't have the computer to post them I will take on the honor. These are pictures that I took when we had the pleasure of watching the babies while Waylon and Willow quickly ran to Twin one day. Mac and Maci are adorable little things with the tempers of their Daddy :-). I must admit I am pleasantly suprised as to what a good little Daddy Waylon is as I never thought he would ever have kids. Its the cutest thing to see him talk baby talk, change diapers, take one to bed with him while Willow keeps the other and just dote over the two of them the way he does; he is just an all around very good Daddy and I am so proud of him, I am not sure I could do it with Twins. Waylon has also taken on Willows adorable boys Kai and Trace whom we love to pieces as well. He is also so very good to the two boys and loves taking them out to do "boy things" as well (fishing, hunting, etc.) What can I say I am a pretty proud big sister and Auntee :-)I will post pics of all them eventually as I get them. Who knows perhaps I can talk them into one big family picture :-). Well I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year!!

I went and had lunch with Kevin today (Wednesday, Dec, 7). He was in town and called me. I have to apologize to Kevin. I couldn't find my way to P.F. Changs and he had to talk me through on how to get there!
SO embarrassing!! I need a guy from Washington to help me find the way in my own town!! I used my map quest and figured out how to get there now, Kevin. I will go back to make sure I know how to get there! You helped me study and learn more about downtown-that's good. It was great to see you, and thanks for lunch!

Update on My Daddy from his FAVORITE Daughter and the FAVORITE Niece, Cousin and Granddaughter... :]

Mom and Dad are on their way home. He looks great. and seems to be feeling pretty dang good considering what he has just gone through!!! He is now headache free for the first time in about 2 1/2 years. I had no idea how bad it had been for him or what he had been going through until we were in Boise getting him ready for surgery. All I can say is how thankful and appreciative I am that he won't be having that constant headache and pain that has been so unbearable for him. He is the MOST amazing man. He has some very cool x-rays of his "hardware" in his neck! He is going home to recover and relax and enjoy this holiday season with Family ... AND spoil his new granddaughter that will be here Very Soon!!! We had the Best time in Boise as a Family. Just Dad, Mom and all 4 of us girls for his Surgery. We went up the night before. It was pretty awesome to all be there together.
Just wanted to let you all know!!

Wow! We had quite the wind storm this morning in Bountiful! It knocked down 2 of our tallest most beautiful trees! So sad! No damage to the house or any of us Lindsays/Barbers... just a big mess to clean up and a lot less shade for next summer. :(
There were 2 other trees that had significant damage as well, but they're still standing.

Cameron Joseph Nelson had his first birthday-or actually celebrated it a couple days age-his actual birthday is today-Nov. 30, 2011. He had all his cousins celebrate with him and his little cake. L to R is Rebekah Allen, who turned 1 June 30, Brooklyn Wallace, who turned 1 on Sept. 6, and Matthew Jungman, who turned 2 on November 3. Aren't they cute!! What a bundle of energy!!

We had all the family here over Thanksgiving. It was great!

Hi.
I am asking insight from those who live close to Mom. She is sure the doctor will let her go home tomorrow-Monday, November 28. I know Clyde is a little indisposed this week, with surgery coming up, but I was planning on coming to Burley Thursday night after we get off at the storehouse, then spending 4 days helping her out. Does she have someone to being her home? Does she need someone to stay with her? We are still serving our mission at the storehouse till the first week in January, which is every Tuesday and Thursday, but if I need to be with her this week and take her home from the hospital, I will arrange to do that. Can someone give me some insight here? Could she get by till Thursday?
Please let me know. Shirley

Happy Thanksgiving from WA! It was a classic Debbie Lindsay-style feast with lots of people (18 was the magic number this year) and lots and lots of food (and even more pie). We were missing Krista... Justin brought his girlfriend Jess who jumped right in, donning an apron and all! My dad and the boys fried a turkey and it might have been the best turkey any of us had ever tasted. Pretty great day! Love you all!

Also, Grandma-- I hope you are feeling a little better and stronger today, be a good patient and do your physical therapy :) We all love you very much! Thanks for the updates, Wes and RJ.

Mom was moved today from the hospital to Park-view. She doesn't have a phone in her room and her cell phone is locked up. I will take it in tomorow and try to get it working for her. She seems to be doing alright. I'm sure that they will start working with her tomorrow to get her moving better again. Hope everyone is well.

OK! We went to visit mom again tonight, which wasn't quite as entertaining as last night. She was pretty doped up last night. She was much more coherent tonight. Sounds like her surgery went well. She hasn't had any pain yet. She got up and walked twice today, and sat up in a chair. She wants the things on her legs off - the things that prevent blood clots, but the nurse told her...no! She will probably be in the hospital another day or two and then she will go to rehab place for a while. She has her cell phone if you want to give her a call. Or call her room, but I don't have the number. Text RJ. He can get it.

Well I found out today that I will be getting a new hip on the 16th of this month. I am scared to death. I've been through it once, so I shouldn't be afraid, but I am. I'll depend on prayers. But that's not the worst of it, Clyde will also be going through a surgery this month. Either the 17th or the 29th. So pray for both of us. Clyde will be in Boise and mine will be here in Burley.

Thanks for all the pic's you people sent. I loved them. Everyone did a good job of decorating your little ones. I only had 114 little goblins stop at my house for Trick or Treats. I still have candy left over though. I hate having it left over because I eat too many of them. I haven't done too bad at resisting them though. I hope everyone had a great time for Halloween. I didn't, because nobody came this year to help me treat all the little goblins, so I had to keep getting up and answering the door. Next year I think maybe I just won't be home.

Happy Halloween from Washington :) Dev had a blast and pulled off Zombie Sheriff pretty well if you ask me (I was his zombie prisoner...) We went up to Ellensburg for an afternoon of trick or treating with Grandpa and Grambellina (or whatever name she and Dev decide on for the day...). Dev sure loves them, it's cute to watch my dad and him (he idolizes my dad!)

Anyways, we had a blast! Dev got a ton of candy and now the count down is on for Turkey Day!

So we have actually successfully been married a whole year (and now LIVE TOGETHER too!!!) Thought I'd share some pictures of our little celebratory outing. We ended up getting Dev for Sunday which was awesome. The original plan was for a little escape for me and Bri up to Cle Elum in the mountains, but one disaster led to another and I ended up sick and we ended up having to drive back to Yakima real quick to get Dev on Saturday. But we still had a blast. We ended up going down to Bonneville Dam and watching the salmon in the fish ladders... Pretty dang cool.

It has been nice these last couple of days getting some of the news, like "the old days". I have enjoyed all the pictures you have sent, as well. The kids are all growing up so fast and they are all so darn cute (and handsome). Thanks all who sent pic's.
Sandy, either day would be good for you to stop in, but Friday would probably be the best because I don't get out of church till 2 p.m. on Sunday, but whatever you want to do. Just let me know for sure. I'd love to see your family anyway. Verlee and I are going to the Temple tomorrow (Thurs).

Sandy, I can NOT believe Cam is standing!! Holy smokes - that kid grew fast! Everything is the same here in WA. Kevin is flying into SLC on Saturday to crash the Heidi reception :) He is excited to see whom ever he can in his short time. Lisa is picking him up from the airport -- she is on her way to a rotation in Yakima!! She will be doing ocology for 4 weeks here. We are so happy that she can do that. Kevin will help her finish driving home :)
Justin is doing well. Baking away at Costco. Krista got a fulltime job at Momofuku in NYC. Google it -- it is this fancy pants bakery and restaurant. She is working in the bakery. Her first day is today so I am anxious to find out how she liked it and how it went! So happy to hear that Cassie's first days are going great!!
We are re-doing the bathroom upstairs and next on the list is the wood floors in the living room, plus I have decided to completely change my whole color scheme (and this is after I painted my kitchen this summer - but I don't like it) -- And this all started with wanting a new pedestal sink in the bathroom!! So I am busy. Also I am sewing a wedding dress to take over to Hawaii next week when our sweet Hawaiian daughter (Lisa's best friend, Jess) gets married in the Kona Temple. We love you all!

here is a little update in photos from the Nelson family. Things have been pretty busy here.
I got a new calling a few months back, I am in the young womens presidency. and Both the president and the 1st counsler had babies in the past month. SO I have been pretty busy with all that. Cameron is busy busy and fast. He climbs up the stairs super fast. He has been sick this past week. Bella is still keeping busy with fundraising for her trip next spring. SHe also started volleyball a few weeks ago. SHe is enjoying being the oldest in the school. She is in 8th grade this year and is still the Beehive pres.
Ashlynn is staying busy with friends, she is in 5th grade, she really likes her teacher. She started volley ball yesterday.
Lindz is in preschool. She keeps me very busy. She loves her baby brother so much. Her preschool teacher is amazed at how she recognizes most her alphabet already. And she knows what letters some words start with.
Rick is in the Elders quroum pres. and stays busy with that and work.
We are so excited to go see Jasons football game this weekend. His 17th birthday is in 2 weeks. Can you believe that? Man where does the time go? Love you all. Thanks Grandma for guilting Jen into posting. it was great to hear from her. Now you just need to get Jess and Amber and some of the other cousins to post. Kim how is Kristen? Thanks Kevin for remeinding us what is important. IT was funto look back on the blog when it was started. wow how all of our lives have changed since then. Grandma if you are going to be home I will stop in and see you either Friday or Sunday? Which would be better for you?Friday we could do a later lunch or Sunday I am not sure when. I will just call.

Hello All from the Jensen Family!

So I realize that my life is anything from calm, organized, or normal......so I tend to keep in touch with most of you via facebook since I can access it from my phone, computer, etc. But I am feeling guilty after reading Grandma's post, so I thought I better do a little update on here. :)

All three of our kids just started back to school. This was hard on mom to send my baby to Kindergarten, but she was so ready.

Kayden is in 4th grade and is so smart. He loves school, he loves to read, he is great at math, he loves his sports, and he loves music. He is a huge Chargers fan (how that happend in a household who Dad cheers for Bears and mom is a huge huge huge Cowboys fan, I don't know) but he loves to follow them and watch all of their games. He understands the game so well and already can tell you about different plays, positions, and etc. He even has his very first fantasy football team this year and is doing really well. Kayden is also playing his first year of tackle football. He has played flag football in the past, but this was the first year he got to play tackle. I am not going to lie, I was a little nervous that after the first time getting knocked on his butt he wouldn't like it so much, but he LOVES it. He plays both offense and defense and last game played QB for the fourth quarter. I am a very proud mama!

Ori is in the 2nd grade this year and I am really excited about the dynamic of his class. I think that it will be perfect for him. His teacher seems great and likes to work with some different ideas as far as teaching. The kids in her class get to sit on large bouncy balls instead of chairs. Now in my mind I am thinking......a bunch of 7-8 year olds + a bunch of large bouncy balls = disaster.....but she has done a study on it and tried it the last couple of years and it seems to work well. I am excited for him to try this. She also has a student teacher for the first part of the year which Ori is excited about. It is a young lady fresh out of college. Also, our PTA has raised enough money the last couple of years that ALL classrooms in the school has smart boards in them. Love this technology. If you aren't familiar with this, google it and check it out. It is such a great and fun way to teach the kids. Ori also is really big in to sports and will be playing flag football again this year. It is killing him that he can't tackle and we have to keep reminding him that he will get that chance soon enough, but he so badly just wants to throw a kid to the ground. (Is it horrible that I like that he feels that way?......I mean from a football stand point. :)

Jaycee (MY BABY) started Kindergarten this year. So crazy to be sending all of my kids to school. Jaycee only goes 1/2 day, but couldn't love it more. She was so excited that she got to buy a backpack and supplies this year. On the first day of school I was worried it might be a little tough.....little did I know it was really only tough on me. As we made the rounds in her room and put away all of her stuff, we next headed over to her chair. I am of course carrying my camera and taking a bunch of pictures. As she sits down she looks at the boy sitting next to her, he has his mom on one side and his dad on the other. They are both bent down next to him as he is bawling his eyes out and begging them not to leave. As Jaycee takes in this whole scene, she then looks at me and rolls her eyes and then says......Bye mom! I wasn't ready to leave, but she was ready for me to go.......LOL! Jaycee is by far my little spit fire who is very independent and has a take control type of personality. She has no problem at all keeping up or putting up with her two older brothers. One day she is wearing her football jersey and shorts around the house and the next day she is putting on lip gloss and carrying around her purse. She totally cracks me up. This year she tried out and made the team for a competitive cheerleading team. She practices twice a week and they will be going to compitetions in Idaho, Utah, and nationals in California. It has been fun for both of us, and I figured I would get a few years out of her doing girly stuff, because I know once she has the choice (is old enough to play sports here) she will probably pick sports. :)

Troy is in the process of building a new large log cabin on the Winecup Gamble Ranch in Nevada for the new owner. He was hired by the Ranch Manager who is out of Florida who was hired by the owner. The owner is Paul Fireman who is a retired CEO of Reebok. I am attaching a little bit of information about him from a website:

I don't believe the ranch is still for sale, he is now building this log home on it and putting a lot of money into fixing up the cowboy houses, bunk houses, tack rooms, horse barns, etc. So needless to say this has been an amazing job for my hubby with some amazing new contacts, but it has also turned me into a married single mom. :) Life is busy and we get along just fine, but it is definitely different when you don't have your spouse to lean on all the time. He tries to come home on weekends, but if he can't make it this way then we load up and go that way. The kids think the Ranch life is pretty awesome and would probably stay there all the time if I would let them.

Here are just a few shots from the last time I was there to see Troy. They were just starting the first layer of logs after getting the floor on. It is going to be a beautiful home.

Ori's flag football hasn't started yet for the year, but he is chomping at the bit to get back on the field.

As for me, I am going on my third year of owning my own insurance agency. I truly love what I do, but it makes my already full plate even fuller! I know have two full time gals that work in my office which helps out alot. I love watching my business grow and I love working with all of my customers. It has been a fun journey for me. I am also still invloved in Jr. Club of Magic Valley which is a non profit organization of women in our area that do 5-6 different events a year and then we donate all our proceeds to our local charties. I truly love doing this. This year I was in charge of our annual golf scramble and then also on the committee for our annual Bite of Magic Valley. Between the two events we earned almost $20,000. We donated to our local Ronald McDonald House, Camp Rainbow Gold (which is a summer camp for children with diabetes), and also our local crisis center that takes in women and children from abusive homes. It is such a good feeling to be involved with such an amazing group of women doing good for our community. I am also in heaven because NFL season has started back up. And in case you missed it my Cowboys had a much needed win on Sunday in overtime. :) I have also been invited to be in another fantasy football league this year which I LOVE! The guys always invite me thinking that I am going to be an easy win and then end up hating me by the end of the season because I have kicked all their butts! :) I have won both weeks so far and the guys were shocked! And to top it off I had the highest score this week with a grand total of 143 points. And yes, I am totally bragging about this because I am proud!.....LOL.......nothing like kicking a guy's butt in a game he thinks he owns. :)

So there is a little insight on our crazy busy lives. I promise we haven't fallen off the face of the earth and I promise I will try and be better about posting on here. Love you all and I hope all is well!

On September 20th our Don Hymas Lindsay Family blog will be FIVE years old. The blog grew fast too! After my initial post we had the Moultons, the Jensens, The Allens, Ms. Heidi and then Kirk all within the first week. These kids are so dang cute and can you believe how fast they have grown!!!!

In 5 years we have had almost 1,800 posts, Thousands of pictures, over 100 videos (ok, I made that number up, but still, lots of videos!) and thousands of comments. We have 17 Linked Family blogs and Four (4) complete histories attached. Amazing!

Dad (Grandpa) passed away 6 months before we started the blog but I know that he would be laughing and beaming with pride if he could sift through these pictures and read the funny stories we have recorded.

Forgive me if this comes across too cheesy but one of my favorite quotes is from Thomas Pain. He was speaking about Freedom but I think you can substitute "Family" into this quote perfectly.

HELLO THERE FAMILY!!!

Well, where the heck to start??? It has been a CRAZY BUSY summer that is for sure!! I am including some pictures which are accute shots of our summer happenings. Aside from everything else we are involved in I managed to take Kaylie and a group of our friends to Las Vegas this summer.Although all you see in the picture is kids I did have sanity keepers (adults) as well. It was a BLAST!! It was sure fun to see a bunch of innocent kids find out that we live in a pretty safe and secure little village compared to what is really out there. It was sure eye opening for them at times but a good lesson learned that's for sure. I sure don't know what it is, I just cannot seem to get away from the kids even on vacation. When not busy with life itself one of our other hobbies for the year has been attending Quarter Horse Shows with Kynlei, a new hobby that she has picked up just this year and man she has done AMAZING for her first year. Then there was fair, Kaylie as you can see shows lambs (one lamb this year due to one braking its leg) and Kynlei is my little pig girl. She did amazing, her pig was third overall and she won a $175.00 overall quality award which brought her to bringing home $1395.00 for her pig, definitely a nice addition to her savings account that's for sure. As far as showmanship, both of my girls do amazing and ended up in the top of their showmanship classes. Showmanship is where they are judging the kids showing ability and not the animal; quality is when they judge only the animal. Then as you can see my little pony and cart pictured....This is what I got for my 35th birthday, yes a pony (well really he is a miniature horse technically) and a cart which is a blast to ride around in as very therapeutic ha ha . Not sure of any other 35 year olds that want a pony for their birthday but yes, folks you have nor witnessed probably your first :-). I guess that shows that I am very blessed and need not want for much if that's all I want right?? Well other than those quirky little details all in all things are going great in the Sneddon Household. The kids are growing ever so quickly, Kaylie is a sophomore this year and is planning to graduate a year early which will put her graduating next year. Following graduation, she is planning to do the Radiology program at ISU. I keep thinking that maybe she will change her mind and live with me for just a year longer if not FOREVER; aside from that she is DRIVING now and is a Cheerleader at Minico and will start back into gymnastics very soon!!! Kynlei is a 5th grader this year and is involved in a little bit of everything which as mentioned includes horse shows, riding lessons, piano, gymnastics and several other activities. Randy is as busy as ever shoeing horses working for the electric company and just plain keeping the farm going. I am in my last two semesters of school (Hallelujah) and am very busy with probation (which I currently have two caseloads, a Minidoka and a Cassia caseload), I will begin teaching prevention classes in a week and will be attending a supervisor training at POST in two weeks. All in all life is good and we are managing very well. Congratulations to all of the newly wed cousins I am very excited for you. Well, I hope each of you are doing well and life is treating you good. I will attempt not to be such a stranger and get on here a little more often until then CHOW!!!!!

I went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival today with Alex and Lisa. Had a wonderful time! Raced in big plastic bubbles (video for this), went on a helicopter ride, and watched the balloons get filled up and get ready for take off as it got dark. It was awesome! We were right it the middle of the balloons. I never realized how gigantic there were until then. It was definitely an amazing sight to see, unfortunately we didn't get to see any of them actually take off because the wind started to blow too much. Will have more pictures and probably some more videos posted on Facebook so check them out :)

Krista is back in NYC - homeless -- looking for an apt, Justin is discovering the joys of moving out and Lisa is thick in the throes of moving in/unpacking --
guess what == it doesn't matter who you are, moving is a lot of work and no one really likes it :)

Mads starts school next Wed -- we have to survive rodeo/fair this weekend first. I am applying for the last job available in the school district and I think I would LOVE it -- school media specialist (librarian :)) at my favorite elem. school (it is even PT!) which still gives me time to SEW -- ha ha!

I will let you know if I get an interview...

Heidi, your life sounds wonderful! Keep us posted and you should post more pics, hint hint...
maybe of Andrea's trip to Utah with her little chilluns (sp??) I was trying to go southern there and failed miserably.

The Lindsay-Barber Reception

Hi Everyone,
A few people asked about when I'm having my reception. We're going to do it on September 24 (Saturday) at a church a few blocks from my parent's house. I'm getting the invitations printed this week so you should see them soon.

If Grandma or one of the uncles will email me everyone's current address, that'll help me get them to you faster. :)

For us, married life is blissful so far. :) We're staying in my parent's basement while we save up for a house & we've got it fixed up real nice. I am so so so happy!

Some asked us for ideas about wedding gifts, well we're registered at Target right now and will be registered at Bed Bath and Beyond by the end of this week.

Other ideas if anyone wished to go in together on a gift are: a portable dishwasher, a nice family edition set of the scriptures (you know the big hard bound ones with all the pictures in them.), a hymnbook with our name embossed on the front... That sort of thing. Oh... and I really want a card file, I'm not sure why in this technical age I am so driven to have one... but I am.
Anyway, Gregary and I are looking forward to visiting up there in Idaho... We just need a week where things aren't insanely busy. We sure hope some of you will be able to come to our reception. You uncles tell that factory to give you a break already! ;)

The wedding was so lovely last weekend. Congratulations to Megan and Damon. It was a beautiful day! I am excited about all these young couples starting out!!

Now, I want to know how the Barber's are coming along? What is the latest with you two? Several of the aunts and uncles went in together to get Megan and Damon a vacuum cleaner. Be thinking of what you need/desire for a wedding gift-short of a new car or a house! (Maybe everyone else got you a gift already, but if anyone wants to go in, let me know.)

Frost Reunion

No more reminders as the Frost reunion is no more. Yesterday was the last one and it was a good one. It took a while to get going, but by about noon, we had a pretty good crowd. I didn't get a count, but it was great. We missed those of you who couldn't be there but now we can concentrate on making the Don Lindsay reunion even more interesting. Not that the last one wasn't good, because it was and I enjoyed it. The kids and even the adults had a good time. Shirley even went down the zip line with her grandson, Will. He was excited to get her on that zip line.
All my living sisters were there, along with quite a few of their kids. I'm happy to say that 5 of my kids were there, and I appreciate your support. Everyone is so busy that some were not able to make it, and we understand that. But I sure do love you all and appreciate what you do for me, and keeping in touch with me. OXOX MOM & Granny

PS: Right now, I'm having my carpets shampooed. About time. Also, for those who haven't heard, there was an awful plane crash at the airport yesterday afternoon, killing 4 people (burning). No identification yet has been announced. So sad

TO ALL MY KIDS AND GRAND'S, Just a reminder about the Frost reunion to anyone who can come. It's this coming Saturday (13th) at Harris Pond from 10:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. The kids have a blast in the pond so we don't have any other wonderful things for them to do. If you come, bring a main dish (pot luck) and anything else you want to bring. I hope to see some of you there. The big wind storm we had last Saturday tool 4 of Randy's huge pine trees down. They were so beautiful. Now they only have 2 left. They had a huge crew from their ward come last night and sawed them all up and hauled them away on big trucks and took them to a shredder a couple of miles away. Clyde lost a tree as well. It was a fst furious storm of only 5 or 10 minutes and just cut a path. In town we see damage like that. Lov y'all Granny

Hi From the Wallace's! Kerri and Jason have been here off and on for this week and last week, so we have had 13 of our 15 grand kids here along with most of their parents. We have had great fun and a wild time. The first picture is of the famous four grand kids-we could only get them to stay still for a few seconds! Cameron is Sandy's baby, born 30 Nov., then Brooklyn-Josh's baby, who will turn one on Sept. 6, then Rebecca, who turned one on June 30, Kerri's baby girl, then last is Tracy's Matthew, who turned one Nov. 3, so he is 21 months old.
Well, I have been wondering how everyone is doing? How are our newlyweds, Heidi? And how are wedding plans for our soon to be newlyweds? How are plans going, Megan, Wes? We will be in Burley for the Frost reunion on Saturday, the 13-this Saturday, and the next Saturday for Megan's special day. I have not seen an announcement yet-am I suppose to have one yet. Just want to make sure it wasn't lost in the mail.

My birthday was a great day. I got to spend the morning and afternoon with my kids. Then I spent the evening with my family and with Trent. My mom and dad were amazingly generous and gave me my dad's older camera. It's a Nikon D80 and it is fabulous! :D We went to eat at Texas Roadhouse and then we went to see the final Harry Potter movie. Here are a few pictures that I have taken with my new camera.

FROST REUNION

Dear Family, It's been so long since I posted that I had to call Craig to see how to do it. I am so computer illiterate. But I wanted to remind all of you of the Frost Reunion which is coming up on August 13th out at Harris Pond. The same place it's been for the last 3 years. It is Pot Luck, and only from 9 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., as it has become such a popular place and is very busy every week end. So you may have to get out of bed a little earlier to make it. This will probably be the last year for the Frost Reunion, as nobody wants to quit, yet, nobody wants to take charge. So it has been thrown together rather quickly. Darla Turner Burtenshaw and Gayle Jackson Peacock has volunteered to put it together for this year. I don't know whats planned, but the pond offers a lot of fun things for the kids, and Gayle and Darla have some ideas. They did not send out notices to anyone and are relying on the immediate family members to let their own families know about it. So don't be offended by not getting an invitation, nobody got one.
Ty"s baptism last night was a very nice program. RJ & Shanna let me tag along with them. Ty was so cute and excited that the whole thing was "for him". Adam baptized him and Jessica was excited, as well. It was her birthday (33) and such a special time. Becky was there and all her sisters (and children) were able to be there. The only one who couldn't make it was "Papa Clyde", and I think he felt bad that he couldn't be there. Hope you can come to the reunion.OXOX Granny

Still waiting on my pictures

Hi everyone, I'm still waiting for my pictures, but I'll share some with you as soon as I get them. My photographer has a different, full-time day job and so it's going to be a while yet. But here's some photos I took of the ring. :)

Things were so crazy that day that I don't think many people besides the photographer remembered to bring a camera. But the surprise was the ring. Greg told me that morning that the ring maker had not finished it yet... but really he'd had it for a few days! So he had Hyrum hiding it very well on the ring pillow before the ceremony.

My eyes were a little filled with tears so when we were getting the rings ready I didn't even notice it was the real thing! Then when we were about to exchange rings during the ceremony, he picked it up and I saw it. It was a total surprise. I loved it! I can't wait to see what my face looked like on the video when I finally noticed. lol.

It's so beautiful! I love it.

It was a beautiful evening full of love and happiness. Heidi was (as always) absolutely beautiful and breathtaking and Greg looked extremely sharp in his tux. As they kissed after they were married dear Brooklyn said, "eeeeeeeewwww!" rather loudly. :) Lexi was up at the front "swimming" through the flower petals she had helped to spread. We got to keep a surprise from Heidi all day (I'll let her tell you about that) and that was fun.

They are extremely happy and grossly in love. I couldn't be more happy for her. Greg is fabulous to her and I'm happy to call him my new brother.
